Graduate Assistant
Applicant must be a holder of a First Class and Second Class (Upper Division) Bachelor Degree from a recognized institution. However, applicants with Good Second Class (Lower Division) Bachelor’s degree may also apply.
NYSC/Exemption Certificate.
Assistant Lecturer
He/She must be a holder of Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline from any recognized institution.
However, Holders of B.Sc. Accountancy with at least Second Class (Upper Division) plus ACA/ACCA attracts special recognition.NYSC/Legal exemption Certificate.
Lecturer II
Holders of Ph.D. in the relevant field
or
Master’s Degree holders with at least 2 publications in a reputable journal and must have spent at least two years as Assistant Lecturer.
Lecturer I
A Ph.D. holder who has been a Lecturer II for two years plus a sufficient number of scholarly publications in a reputable journal – not less than 5 publications and 2 edited conference proceedings,
or
A holder of Master’s Degree who has been a Lecturer II with three (3) years university teaching experience and has sufficient scholarly publications not less than 5 publications and 3 edited conference proceedings.
Senior Lecturer
Ph.D. holder who has a minimum of six (6) years teaching experience at the University level; plus Three years as a Lecturer I in a University.
A sufficient number of scholarly publications in a reputable – not less than 6 publications and 5 edited conference proceedings; plus A substantial evidence of potential for continuous research activity and academic leadership.
Reader
A Ph.D. holder with a minimum of nine (9) years teaching experience at the University level.
A minimum of three years as a Senior Lecturer in a University.
Adequate background of research with a sufficient number of publications in a reputable journal – not less than 12 publications and 8 edited conference proceedings;
Postgraduate supervision at Ph.D. and Masters Levels;
Dissemination of knowledge through professional and academic activities;
General academic leadership and the ability to mentor others;
Some administrative experience;
Proven integrity;
Favourable External Assessment;
Candidate for the position of Reader must be currently a Senior Lecturer in a university.
Professor
A Ph.D. holder with a minimum of twelve (12) years teaching experience at the University level;
A minimum of three years as a Reader.
Continuous productive research with the achievement for an acknowledged authority in area of specialization;
Considerable background of research with a sufficient number of publications in a reputable journal – not less than 15 publications and 10 edited conference proceedings;
Not less than 75% of the maximum scores under Research and Publications shall be in an applicant’s area of specialization;
Adequate capacity to disseminate knowledge through academic and professional activities;
Postgraduate supervision at both Ph.D. and Master’s degree levels;
Sound academic leadership and the ability to mentor others;
Administrative skills, ability and experience;
Spotless integrity;
Favourable External Assessment; and
Applicant for the position of Professor must be currently a Reader in a university or awaiting external assessment for the position of a Professor.
