JAMB To Deploy Soldiers For 2017 UTME

In a statement issued by head, information, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dr Fabian Benjamin has announced that Soldiers would be emmatched in to the computer based Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) centres in some parts of the country to tigthen security.

According to the statement, this decision was made after a meeting between the JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-Haq O. Oloyede and the Chief of General Staff of General Tukur Buratai in Abuja.

He said that the board has created synergy shared with the Army to ensure the Computer Based Test (CBT) centers in order to test for a hitch free exam for 2017 UTME.

“This need became imperative to seek for security intervention from the army, particularly in turbulent areas,” he said.

Commenting on this, General Buratai stated that some of the flash points pointed by the registrar were not only safe but habitable adding that normalcy, particularly in the Northeast had returned even as he promised to deploy troop for more surveillance and protection during the examination.
